Driving Test Certificate

To book a driving test you will need your:

• UK driving licence number,
• credit or debit card,
• driving instructor’s personal reference number if you want to check they’re available,

You can check for earlier appointments after you’ve booked your test. These are sometimes called ‘cancellation appointments’. Or contact us and we will see if we can get you a short notice test booking.

You must have passed your theory test before booking your driving test.​

The Driving Test Explained  - DVSA OFFICIAL VIDEO

​INDEPENDANT DRIVE

At the end there is a ten-minute where you will drive independently and will most likely be asked to follow signage to a specific direction, this will prove to the examiner that you can still operate a car safely whilst navigating  and shows decision-making, self-guided driving and route finding abilities. 

THE EYE TEST

You will be asked by the examiner to read a  number plate of a car from a distance of 20 meters.

VEHICLE SAFETY QUESTIONS - SHOW ME TELL ME

​Here you will be asked two questions relating to vehicle safety and performing checks on your car. Generally, these take the form of “show me, tell me” questions. An incorrect answer to each of these two question will result in you being marked down for a minor fault

Finally you will pass your driving test if you make 15 or fewer minor driving faults, and no major mistakes. The examiner will tell you afterwards whether you passed or failed your driving  test.

Beginner Driving Lessons

Beginner - We all have to start somewhere and learning to drive can be a daunting experience to those just starting to drive.  Our Hertfordshire Driving Instructors are experienced in getting you acclimatised quickly in a car so you won't be a beginner for long.​ We will provide you with all the essential knowledge and skills to get you confident behind the wheel of a car.

• 1 hour driving lesson.
• 90 minute driving lessons.

Automatic Driving Lessons

Automatic - if you have problems with manual gears, clutch control and stalling driving an automatic car maybe the best option for you. What is an automatic? Well, an automatic cars gearbox can change gear ratios by itself as the car moves meaning  the driver does not have to shift gears manually. This can be the difference between a pass or a fail for some drivers as it allows you to concentrate on just driving without constantly having to gear change which is helpful in busy urban and city environments like St Albans, Hertfordshire. 

Refresher Driving Lessons

Refresher - just moved to Hertfordshire or simply have not driven for a long time?  Well this is the driving lessons or course for you. If you come from a country that drives on the opposite side of the road or has less cars on the road or different driving rules, road layouts, signals and road signage then you may want to take refresher driving lessons to help build you confidence and ensure you do not get penalised for not following UK driving laws.

Intensive Driving Courses

Intensive -we will arrange all your driving lessons over a few weeks and book you in for your driving test in Hertfordshire at the earliest opportunity. When we say intensive we mean intensive, this is for the driver that needs there licence in a very short space of time. You'll still be fully trained but will require a lot of commitment.

Pass Plus Driving Courses

Pass Plus - If you have just passed your driving test recently then this course can help you get further discounts on car insurance in Hertfordshire.
